J.J. Johnson still performs around St. Petersburg, FL. He released a number of singles throughout the 80s, ending with a 12” single on Capitol Records - “I’m Serious” in 1989. “Ooh Baby” was J.J.’s first official release, co-written with label owner and creative partner Johnnie Lee Robinson.
